Joining the board of directors
Board of Director elections occur annually at the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association National Conference.
Nomination Form for 2025-2026 Board of Directors:
1. Process of Nominations: the nomination form shall include the following information to be considered valid:
1.1 Full name, common name, signature and chapter school of said candidate (where applicable).
1.2 Contact information, including email and phone number
1.3 All Nominations are to be successfully received by 1159 PM AST on January 31st, 2025, to be eligible to run for the position.
1.4 All successful candidates are required to present a 2-minute speech or presentation at the National Conference from the OD/ADs to vote for.
2. Eligibility:
2.1 All potential candidates must be associates of a CNSA Chapter Member school in good standing and the Friends of CNSA.
2.2 They must remain a student at a CNSA Chapter member school for the majority of their term of office. This means that candidates must be enrolled in classes or clinical practicum until at least six months through their term of office.
2.3 All potential candidates shall properly complete the nomination process for their desired position to become a candidate.
2.4 No individual may serve more than two (2) consecutive terms in any one elected position.
2.5 Official and Associate Delegates are only eligible to run for CNSA voting BOD positions if their term as OD or AD is completed before the start of their term of office on the BOD should they be elected. In other words, no individual can hold a position as an OD/AD and voting BOD member at the same time. ODs and ADs are however eligible to also hold a Committee Chair Position.
3. Voting: voter eligibility:
3.1 Eligible voters include the Official Delegates for each CNSA Chapter member.
3.2 If the OD is unable to vote, their Associate Delegate shall vote on their behalf.
3.3 Each chapter member shall be permitted one vote.
