Director of Communications - Scarlett Sanabria-Ramos

Hello! Bonjour! Hola!
I’m Scarlett Montserrat Sanabria-Ramos, a second-year nursing student at the University of Ottawa in the Algonquin Woodroffe stream. Before diving into nursing, I earned a Bachelor of Health Science in French Immersion, which fueled my passion for healthcare and advocacy. Born in the U.S., raised in Mexico, and now building my future in Canada, my diverse experiences have shaped my perspective and reinforced my commitment to connection, communication, and standing up for those who need support. As the Director of Communications for CNSA, my goal is to help nursing students feel informed, connected, and supported. No student should have to navigate the challenges of nursing school alone. We are the future of the profession, and our voices matter.

Outside of school, I work as an administrative assistant for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario’s (CHEO) Mental Health Department, where I’ve gained a deeper understanding of mental health advocacy and the importance of supporting both patients and healthcare professionals. I’m also an esports player, a passion that has strengthened my teamwork, adaptability, and resilience; skills that translate directly into nursing. Whether through advocacy, communication, or fostering a sense of community, I strive to create safe, inclusive spaces where students feel heard, valued, and empowered. Nursing school isn’t always easy, but together, we can build a community where everyone feels supported and ready to shape the future of healthcare.

I’m always happy to chat, connect, and advocate for students. Nursing school isn’t always easy, but together, we can build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered.
